JLBG Staff Change in the Garden

Keith Lukowski

Tony and I are pleased to announce that Keith Lukowski, currently our Assistant Curator at JLBG, has been promoted to Garden Supervisor and Programs Coordinator.  Keith will manage the garden plantings, staffing, projects, and maintenance as well as be in charge of our interns, volunteers, visitors and guests for special events, social media and programs sponsored by the garden.

Keith has been with us since August 2012 as a part-time employee while at NCSU, and since February 2014 as Assistant Garden Curator.

Keith’s educational background includes a B.S. degree from NCSU in Horticulture with an emphasis on public garden administration as well as experience as a horticulture Research Assistant at Oregon State University.

Keith was the recipient of the Wilder Scholar award of merit at NCSU for four years as well as involved with numerous extracurricular activities in the area of horticulture.

The list of Keith’s civic and educational accomplishments is long and varied, so suffice it to say, we are grateful he has found a calling at JLBG.

Please join us as we congratulate Keith on his promotion into a leadership position with JLBG!

  1. Congrats Keith!

And what a great choice you guys made in promoting him! I’ve always thoroughly enjoyed my conversations with Keith. He’s fun and interesting and graciously answers all my crazy questions.

  2. I had the pleasure of talking with Keith for the first time last Sunday during the open house. He was helpful and gave me some suggestions that will help me navigate through your wide selection of plants.

  3. Yay, Keith!

I met him at the open house as well – he was so polite and helpful, and answered my questions and some I hadn’t known to ask.

    Congratulations!

  4. Well done Keith.
The support of Juniper Level Botanic Garden is a primary reason I buy from Plant Delights Nursery. The evaluations and display are likely important to other customers as well.
    Cheers!
