More cool fungi

I find myself also attracted to photographing strange fungi that show up at the botanic garden and nursery.  Here’s my latest discovery…perhaps someone can identify it for me.

  1. This has been the year for weird fungi in my yard, too. Something that looked like an upside down carrot popped up In several spots that get a few hours of sun. I’d never seen anything like it.

  2. Looking through the Field Guide to Mushrooms, it looks like either a Pig’s Ear Gomphus (your choice to eat or not) or a Trumpet Chanterelle (good eating).
